The study of Colossians has led my to pray the first chapter prayer in a variety of ways.

Heavenly Father,
Give me a wise mind and a spirit attuned to Your will so that I can understand Your ways.
Give me the strength to stick to Your will and ways; not a strength that is grim, gritting your teeth strength, but a strength that endures the unendurable and grows stronger because of the glory it gives You. A strength that spills over into joyful thanksgiving because of Your great and glorious presence and work in our lives. Father today may I live a life worthy of the Lord and may I please you in all that I say and do.
